Childress Out As Vikings Coach

Yesterday, the announcement everyone expected to come out of Minnesota finally happened, Brad Childress was out of a job when he was fired from the Minnesota Vikings. He will be replaced by defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, the man who was thought of to be a head coach soon anyway. This comes after a disappointing loss to the rival Green Bay Packers 31-3 at home.

This is the same coach that received  a contract extension over the summer and told Jared Allen, Steve Hutchinson, and Ryan Longwell to go to Brett Favre and tell him to come back for one more year. After a disappointing 3-7 start to the year and releasing Randy Moss, who they pretty much wasted a third round pick on him, Vikings Owner Zygi Wilf finally had enough of Coach Childress. Childress wasn't like too much in the locker either. He reportedly got in a fight with second year wide reciever Percy Harvin over his lack of effort at practice and he didn't really get along with Quaterback Brett Farve either. After a victory over the Arizona Cardinals, Childress said "I'm not going to stand here like Brett Favre and tell you i need compassion, I need a hug, I'm alright." Now after Childress said he was joking, but people took that differently.
People say the reason Childress got fired was he tolerated too much and he couldn't do anything with a talented team that has highly underachieved. What it all comes down to is that he put all of his eggs in one basket with Brett Favre. He thought he would have another fantastic season but he obviously was wrong. Brett Favre went back to him old self as the gun-slinger who throws a lot of interceptions. Instead Childress could of put his faith in the backup, Tavaris Jackson. In the one game he came in when Favre was injured he went 4-6, threw for thirty six yards and a touchdown. Now he only threw 6 passes but at this point in time Leslie Frazier should look into the fact of starting Tarvaris Jackson. They have to realize Brett Favre isn't the way to go even though his three hundred consecutive start streak is on the line. What would you rather have a quarter back who is healthy or a quaterback who is injured and has a three hundred consecutive start streak?

  2. its hard to tell, garrett turned around the cowboys, so far. do i expect frazier to do the same maybe due to the fact they actually like frazier

  3. Well Frazier was supposed to be a head coach somewhere else before the season started... Can he actually do something with Minnesota, or are they completely out?
